This means you ratio is below 0.65 after downloading 20GB of data.
This warning will last 2 weeks. This time is to give you time to get you ratio as high as you can. If you do not increase your ratio above 0.65 in this time you will receive another warning. This will continue until you receive 5 warnings and you will be banned from the site. For the possibility of getting your account back you will need to visit the Disabled Account Cases section of the forums. Read the application rules carefully to ensure a speedy resolution. |

When dealing with torrent files you download, you are depending on someone being able to have 100% of the file and be able to seed the file to you. But once the file loses popularity and it has aged, there isn't much incentive to seed if no one is downloading from you. Usually that causes all the seeders to leave and now no one can download the file.
Our tracker rewards you for seeding regardless of it's popularity. as long as you are seen as a seeder by the site, you will receive seed points. We need you to seed what you download to keep the files for people that want them in the future. So how does seed bonus work? It gives members a certain ammount of points per hour for seeding a certain ammount of torrents regardless of the traffic. (ie: how much you upload to another user). This seed bonus can be used to exchange for upload points to balance your ratio so that you can download more material from the site or purchase a custom title for decorative purposes. So all the seeding is not a waste. Click here to cash in your points or to see how much everything is.

Some parts of the sites are not live so in some places the seed bonus might not appear to be going up when it really is. If it hasn't moved after a few hours make sure the tracker is seeing you as a seeder. Once you are sure please post in the forum that its stopped and a moderator will try to help you.*
*One important point about seed bonus; the site will start giving you seed bonus ONLY if you download ALL the files in a torrent. Even if the files are an included text file or pdf, all files MUST be downloaded before seed bonus is calculated. So download ALL the files in a torrent to start gaining seed bonus points, not just the video. |
With regard to the .torrent files themselves, we are a private community with a limited membership. Only registered users can use the NHL Torrents tracker. Posting our .torrent files on other sites or p2p systems will only cause issues for you, as anyone who downloads using that torrent file will be effectively leeching from your account, so you'll see your score plummet very quickly. Also, you will be liable to receive a warning / have your account deleted under our 'one member, one account' rule.
Check with uploader/capper - as it says, should you wish to upload games elsewhere please seek permission from the uploader/capper by sending a PM.
Please respect the redistribution wishes of the original capper. If you do not, and are caught uploading a TSTN files without permission, your TSTN account will be immediately disabled, without a warning. (And using a different "username" will not stop you getting caught).

All that is left to do is copy the URL you were given when uploading it to the avatar field in your profile.If everything is all right you'll see it in your details page. |

Also, we understand that not everyone is an expert when it comes to multimedia files and how to play them. Some of the files on this site require high end equipment to play them as they were intended. Don't fret if you have an older system or are having a problem. The moderators and cappers on this site aren't just here to provide the material, we want you to be able to enjoy it too! There are multiple threads in this site's forum (too many to list) on dealing with varying issues with playback. Along with threads recommending media players for your operating system. Please thoroughly search the forum before posting a thread pertaining to your playback problems, as I can almost guarantee you are not the only one with these current problems. If you need to start a new thread, make the subject intuitive (easy to understand what the thread is about) and type out this information:
- What you are using to play the file, your OS and any relative equipment (ie what kind of PC you have, operating system (Windows version) and hardware (graphics card, processor, memory)
- Screenshots always help if possible
- What you have tried already
- What you need help with

The tracker has determined that you are firewalled or NATed and cannot accept incoming connections.
This means that other peers in the swarm will be unable to connect to you, only you to them. Even worse, if two peers are both in this state they will not be able to connect to each other to share data at all. This obviously has a detrimental effect on the overall speed or uploads and downloads.
The way to solve the problem involves opening the ports used for incoming connections (the same range you defined in your client) on the firewall and/or configuring your NAT server to use a basic form of NAT for that range instead of NAPT (the actual process differs widely between different router models - check your router documentation and/or the support forum - you will also find lots of information on the subject at PortForward. |
A PID is a 32 character key associated with your account that uniquely identifies you as a NHLTorrent member. When a .torrent file is downloaded from your account, the key is automatically encapsulated into an announce URL added to the .torrent file.
Make sure that you keep your PID and .torrent files private at all times. |
There are a few reasons for this:
(1) The torrent may have broken a upload rule.
(2) The uploader may have deleted it because it was a bad release. A replacement will probably be uploaded to take its place.

| The download speed mostly depends on the seeder-to-leecher ratio. Poor download speed is mainly a problem with new and very popular torrents where the SLR is low. |
| The more pieces you have, the harder it becomes to find peers who has pieces you are missing. That's why downloads sometimes slows down or even stalls when there are just a few percent remaining. Just be patient and you will, sooner or later, get the remaining pieces. Sometimes we have come across corrupted torrents that never complete check the torrent comments on the the torrent detail page for information on what's wrong. |
Bittorrent clients check the data they receive for integrity. When a piece fails this check it is automatically re-downloaded. Occasional hash fails are a common occurrence, and you shouldn't worry.
Some clients have an (advanced) option/preference to 'kick/ban clients that send you bad data' or similar. It should be turned on, since it makes sure that if a peer repeatedly sends you pieces that fail the hash check it will be ignored in the future. |
| See the 'hash check' question. If your client receives bad data it will have to discard it and download it again; therefore the total downloaded may be larger than the torrent size. Make sure the "kick/ban" option is turned on in your bittorrent client to minimize the extra downloads. |

The rules are created for a reason: to respect other members by sharing as much as you leech, to enhance the ease of downloading and being able to enjoy the games without the disruptions of others spoiling and creating problems. But if you feel you were unjustly banned from the site, please make a thread with your name as the subject in the Disable Accounts forum section HERE There you will have an opportunity to make a case for enabling your account again. You are not guaranteed to be enabled again, especially if this isn't the first time you have been disabled. |

Most common reason for stats not updating
* The server is overloaded and unresponsive. Just try to keep the session open until the server responds again. (Flooding the server with consecutive manual updates is not recommended.)
* You are using a faulty client. If you want to use an experimental or CVS version you do it at your own risk. |
